What

A Kin Domain is a parcel of land for the permanent residence of a family, 2.5 to 5 acres in size, on which a family can build its house, plant orchards and gardens, and sustain themselves economically. The perimeter of a Kin Domain is enclosed by a hedge of native trees, shrubs, vines and herbaceous plants, including many that are food for humans and animals. The family possesses a life-time, infinitely renewable lease to steward the domain.  Each family defines ‘family’ for themselves.

A Kin Domain Settlement is a group of closely situated kin domains, whose stewards have united for the joint construction of a settlement, and for the creation of the appropriate infrastructure for administrative, cultural, and other social purposes. All of the domain residents together ‘own’ the land, promising to steward the land, the settlement, and the domains for the benefit of future generations.

Infinite sustainability means not just to have little impact on the Earth, but to increase biodiversity.  To be infinitely sustainable means to nurture and enrich the myriad life forms of Earth.  Our goal is to care for the Earth and her natural systems, to care for humans without damaging the Earth, and to limit our population and consumption so that all of Earth's life forms thrive.

To qualify for a Kin Domain there are very few actions that you need to take.  The Membership Process will be posted soon.
